Climate change has prompted businesses and educational institutions to pay greater attention to transparency in sustainability information. In response to this challenge, Trisakti School of Management (TSM) hosted the International Conference on Sustainability Accounting and Business (ICSAB) 2026 on October 14–15, 2026, via Zoom. Under the theme “Enhancing Climate Transparency to Accelerate Sustainability and Low-Carbon Growth,” the conference provided a platform for academics, researchers, and students to exchange ideas on sustainability from accounting and business perspectives.

As the organizer, TSM provided an academic forum that brought together participants from various institutions to discuss climate transparency, carbon emissions measurement and reporting, and low-carbon growth strategies. Through this initiative, TSM also sought to encourage research development and academic collaboration in response to global sustainability challenges.

The first day began with a welcome speech by Dr. Nicken Destriana, S.E., M.Si., Vice Chief Executive of ICSAB 2026, followed by keynote speeches delivered by Dr. H. Aulia Danibrata, S.E., M.M., representing the leadership of Trisakti School of Management, and Prof. Ainun Na’im, Ph.D., representing the leadership of the Trisakti Foundation.

The involvement of institutional leaders formed an integral part of the academic program organized by TSM. Through ICSAB 2026, TSM created opportunities for cross-institutional dialogue while encouraging greater attention to climate transparency and business practices that support sustainable development.

Over the two-day conference, ICSAB 2026 featured four speakers from academia and industry, offering complementary perspectives that enriched the discussions. On the first day, Angga Pujaprayoga, ESG Assurance Leader at KPMG Indonesia, discussed the credibility of sustainability information, while Prof. Adriana Grigorescu, Ph.D., an academic and researcher from Romania, explored the role of human capital and regional resilience in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

In addition to the seminars, the conference featured three parallel presentation sessions across two tracks: research paper presentations and community service program presentations (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, or PKM). Participants presented research findings and community service initiatives across various fields, including accounting, finance, management, marketing, human resource management, corporate governance, and social responsibility.

The presentation schedule also reflected the involvement of TSM faculty members and researchers in the academic program, both as moderators and as authors of scholarly work. This demonstrated that ICSAB served not only as a forum for discussion but also as a platform for presenting and advancing research.

On the second day, Dr. Surahman Pujianto, S.Psi., M.M., discussed the implementation of Green Human Resource Management in fostering sustainable corporate cultures. Meanwhile, Hilman Ali Hazmi, B.Eng., M.Sc., CEO of PT Carbon Energy & Technology, addressed the measurement and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the ISO 14064-1 standard. Together, their presentations offered complementary perspectives on sustainability in business practices, ranging from human resource management to carbon emissions measurement and reporting. The program continued with two parallel presentation sessions and concluded with a Campus Session featuring video presentations from partner universities, followed by the announcement of the Best Paper and Best Presenter awards.

One of the added benefits of ICSAB 2026 was the opportunity for accepted papers to be considered for publication, subject to the requirements and editorial processes of the respective journals. The conference proposal listed five journals affiliated with TSM: Journal of Business and Accounting (SINTA 2), E-Journal of Accounting (SINTA 4), E-Journal of Management (SINTA 4), Media of Business Journal (SINTA 4), and Jurnal Abdimas Sosial, Ekonomi, dan Teknologi (SINTA 4).

These opportunities complemented the conference’s role as a platform for researchers to present their work, receive academic feedback, and broaden the dissemination of their findings. ICSAB 2026 also recognized outstanding academic contributions and presentation skills through the Best Paper and Best Presenter awards.

Through ICSAB 2026, TSM strengthened opportunities for collaboration among students, faculty members, researchers, and partner institutions to advance knowledge in accounting, business, and sustainability. This initiative also supported the development of a research-oriented academic culture and the dissemination of scholarly ideas relevant to business needs and global challenges.
